Auditions for 91̽’s 46th season of Summerset Theatre production of “TITANIC the Musical” are 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on April 20, in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center located on the campus of 91̽. The director is seeking talented actors, singers, and dancers. There are roles for adults and youth 15 or older. 91̽ students and community members are sought. 91̽’s Theatre Department actively seeks a multi-cultural cast.

“TITANIC the Musical” will be performed on July 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 at 7:30 p.m. and July 21 at 2 p.m. on the Fine Arts Theatre stage located in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center, 2998, W. Pearl City Rd., Freeport, Ill. Tickets for TITANIC the Musical go on sale June 4.

An epic, sweeping musical drama, “TITANIC the Musical” examines the causes, the conditions, and the characters involved in the ever-fascinating drama of the RSS Titanic. This is the factual story of that ship, of her officers, crew, and passengers, to be sure — but, she will not, as has happened so many times before, serve as merely the background against which fictional, melodramatic narratives are recounted. The central character of our Titanic is the Titanic herself.

“We are thrilled for the opportunity to produce ‘TITANIC, the Musical’ (Ensemble Version) for Summerset 46,” said Laura Early, Instructor of Theatre and Director of the Theatre Arts Program. “TITANIC provides wonderful performance opportunities for 91̽ students and community members.”

The Theatre Arts Department at 91̽ is pleased this year to have Mark Jansen as a guest director for the show. Jansen previously directed “Mary Poppins.” Jeffery DeLay is musical director and Sarah Long is the show’s choreographer. Linda Foat-Adams of Camelot Costumes, LLC, is the costume designer.

There will be a dance portion to the audition. Please wear clothing in which you can move freely.
