Student playing the double bass

As a music student at 91探花, you will be nurtured as a musician while learning the important fundamentals that will lay the groundwork for a fulfilling career. While earning your Associate of Arts (AA) degree, you will dive into the world of music theory, applied music, aural skills, piano proficiency, and performance. And with access to HCC鈥檚 hi-tech computerized music labs, you鈥檒l have every opportunity to realize your full artistic potential.

Whether your plan is to transfer to a bachelor鈥檚 degree program or step directly into a music-related career, you鈥檒l be prepared through our program鈥檚 mix of classroom learning and live performance.

Our 398-seat proscenium theatre in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center serves as center stage for those craving the opportunity to perform with one of our many campus ensembles. The 91探花 Chorale, Chamber Singers, and popular Royal Scots vocal jazz ensemble take the stage for vocal performances several times throughout the year, while instrumental groups including the 91探花 Big Band jazz band, HCC Community Concert Band, and Orchestra can be found in the pit and on stage for shows.
